  • Teacher Impacts
    • Examine impacts in the classroom instruction and professional practices of RET Participants.
  • Student Impacts
    • Identify gains in student achievement in science through formal and informal activities.
  • Mentor Impacts
    • Look at benefits to mentor scientists including improved awareness of K-12 science criteria, necessity of teacher resources, and mentoring and supervisory strategies.
  • Institutional Impacts
    • Address the value of the RET program for departments, research centers, and institutions.

 

 

INVITED SPEAKER - The distinguished speaker discussed a topic addressing cutting-edge research.

PRESENTATIONS BY PARTICIPANTS - The conference emphasized the experience of the teacher participants as well as the impacts of their experience in the classroom. A portion of the program was devoted to oral presentations and panel discussions.

TRAVEL and ACCOMMODATIONS - Travel and most meal expenses were covered, which included up to three nights (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) at the Sofitel San Francisco Bay Hotel, the venue of the conference. There were no conference registration fees.
